During the 2020 Poetry Week, Destelheide put a new, young poet in the spotlight every day. His or her poem was shared on social media and was given a nice place in the domain of Destelheide.
But poetry is more than just reading:
During the 2020 Poetry Week, in Destelheide, you could eat letter biscuits with your dessert and letter vermicelli in your soup all week long. The table was decorated with delicious poems about food. This stimulates hunger for reading.
If you went up the stairs, you would read a new stanza of a long staircase poem with each step. In the entrance of the restaurant hung a roll of paper on which you could write your own follow-up poem. Or how about a rhyme zone, a life-size game of fridge poetry and a cosy reading and writing corner?
We also foresee a lot of poetry fun again for 2021!
