Noor

Hey there!

My name is Noor and I’m originally from Málaga, a sunny city in the south of Spain, right by the sea. I studied Audiovisual Communication there and later moved to Dessau, where I specialized in Integrated Design. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to live and study in different countries, including Germany and Budapest, experiences that have deeply shaped both my personal and creative path.

My background is rooted in photography and design, but above all, my greatest passion is telling stories and translating ideas into meaningful forms—no matter the medium. I’m driven by the process of giving shape to concepts, emotions, and narratives, whether through images, design, or other creative formats.

I’m convinced that my time in Destelheide will allow me to learn a wide range of techniques and, at the same time, give me the freedom and support to explore my more artistic side without losing sight of purpose. Even in the short time I’ve been here, I already feel inspired by the art, the calm, and the surrounding nature, and I’m truly motivated to make the most of these ten months of volunteering.

On a personal level, I’m a very active person and a nature lover—so I deeply appreciate the environment in which this project takes place. Having breakfast while looking out at fields, trees, and sheep is something truly special. I also climb regularly, and during my very first week here I joined a climbing gym, which already feels like a small anchor in this new chapter.

I’m grateful for this opportunity and excited about what we’ll build along the way!

Camila

Hi everyone! My name is Camila and I come from A Coruña, a city in the northwest of Spain, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, green landscapes and changing skies.

I will be an ESC volunteer at Destelheide until November, and so far I couldn’t be happier with this decision. In the short time I have been here, I have already been made to feel at home, not only because the Belgian clouds remind me of the sky back in my home region, but also because of the warmth and openness of the people around me.

I studied Journalism and Communication, always with the desire to connect them to culture, art, creativity, and self-expression. I love experiencing art in all its forms and I try to contribute by giving it a voice through writing, audiovisual documentation, and social media.

Speaking a bit more about what I like, I always find joy in small moments: being moved by the ending of a book, hiking, watching a sunset, or sharing a drink while talking about life in good company. And although I come from a city, nature has always inspired me deeply as a place where thoughts slow down, perspectives shift, and things become clearer.

Destelheide already feels like a place where I can truly grow, both personally and creatively. What I love most so far about this centre is the freedom to explore my skills in such an open and inspiring way. Being surrounded by creativity, nature, and such welcoming people makes every day feel meaningful. I am really looking forward to getting involved in as many projects as possible, learning from others, and contributing my energy and ideas. The hospitality of the people here, combined with the spectacular natural environment, boosts my motivation even more and makes me excited for everything that is yet to come.
